Hi Dominick, great video!
If my laminate comes with the cushion on the bottom, do I still need to lay down anything underneath? What if it doesn’t come with the cushion – Do I need a foam layer for sound? Thanks!

What do you mean, 5th wheel ? Do you mean a trailer ? if so, sure you can, but don’t glue it. Just install it like any other floor.

can I install laminate in a 5th wheel? would I glue it down?

Hi Dominick, my dad and I are installing Laminate flooring in our living room; however, while we’re not applying the laminate directly over concrete (we’re placing it on wood), we are putting it over a 3 foot high crawl space with a concrete floor. Now we’ve got a vapour barrier to combat this, however, we noticed a water stain on our wood floor. While the stain isn’t wet and we’re not sure how old the stain is, we’re hesitant to place laminate there. What are your thoughts?

If you have never used one i would say its for sure worth the money, look up the laminate cutter made by bullit tools, so nice. I am so glad i got one, all my cuts are inside now and saves so much time. You can even cut glue down with it!

i have to install wood flooring laminate but im doing it on my upstairs rooms! what do i do if the floors are not level? and is it better to use nails or glue on my project upstairs? or should i just get a profesional because i stil need the stairs to be done too and that seems really hard!

If it was only really that fast!!! great job… thanks

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

It really depends on the shape of your floor. But around 30 -45 minutes.

burtonjibber4 September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

how long does it take to do like a 15 by 15 ft room?

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

I used a chop saw and a jig saw on the funny cuts.

you already had the padding on the flooring? It came with it already on? I have to roll mine out. What did you cut the laminate with?

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

It didn’t go on a basement floor. Or are you referring to the padding ? which is attached to the underside of the laminate floor.

chassa479 September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

no vapour barrier ???????

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

I currently have 18 x18 ceramic tile (1100 sq ft) and a few carpeted areas. We don’t want to take up the tile so how do we make up the difference in height from the concrete subfloor under the carpet to the tile before installing laminate?

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

More less the floor will break apart and not look good at all. Very import you stagger the boards.

gotfreckles September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

What happens to your floor if you dont stagger them?

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

Awesome. It would be great if you can post a picture of you floor on my site. I’m trying to make a collection of the ones I helped..

showlace September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

great video! Biggest thing I learned was to join the ends of the planks together and put them all on the next row all at once.. GREAT TIP!! THANK YOU!

DominickDiy September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

Thank you very much. No as of right now I do not. However I will be making a new flooring video very soon and I will be including this.. Check out my site to where I wrote a whole topic on this

schufflerbot September 22, 2009 at 3:46 am

awesome video!! very informative, thanks for putting it up!

i have a question – my upstairs floor is not perfectly flat and level as yours in in the video. i bought some concrete type stuff and was told to use that to even the surface before i put my padding down. do you have any instrunctional vids on that topic?
